Additional Information
Anyone may book the vehicle, but only approved drivers can operate the vehicle. Drivers must register in advance using the online form provided. Drivers must be able to demonstrate:
access to a suitable Section 19 permit. See scouts.org.uk for more information.
District users and Portsmouth Explorer Units are covered by a District Section 19 Permit, held onboard.
Scout Groups must hold their own Group Section 19 Permit. Permits for groups are held at group-level, so you won’t need one for each section.
All other users are responsible to make their arrangements for a Section 19 Permit.
they meet our insurers conditions to drive the vehicle, this includes holding the correct Driving Licence Category to drive the Hilsea Minibus. We do this by requesting DVLA Licence Check Codes. See Who can drive a minibus under the permit scheme? and gov.uk/view-driving-licence for more information.
for any Scout booking, that they hold a valid MiDAS certificate. We may ask for a photo or PDF scan of the MiDAS certificate.
