Adventure is at the heart of Scouting. We believe that by taking part in safe but challenging activities, young people have fun and develop in confidence. From Mix ‘n’ Meet, Challenge Hikes, to District Camp, Portsmouth Scout Activities Team is responsible for organising all the large events held within the City.

All the activities we arrange are divided into land, water, air or creative categories. This means we have a large number of external activity contacts for you to use, such as kite making or outdoor laser quest.

We can also offer support and guidance in relation to activity permits, as well as regulations and policies. If you're in doubt, just ask!

If you have taken part in an activity that could be listed, or you have ideas and materials that would be helpful to others, please let us know.

Nights away or residential events, whether camping, hostelling, sleepovers or bivouacs, form an integral part of Scouting, and are something that every young person in Scouting should have the opportunity to take part in.

We have various resources and directories available to help plan and organise residential events, including details on how to gain a nights away permit. For further information, or to gain general camping advice, please contact:
